Stefanos Intzes is a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist.  He was born in Athens, graduated from Athens College and then received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry from Tufts University in Medford, MA, USA, followed by medical degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. He completed the specialty of Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL, USA and then pursued the subspecialty of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, USA.  Upon completion of his training, he worked for many years as a Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Spokane, Washington, USA, where he was actively involved in clinical research as a member of the Children's Oncology Group, as well as in the hospital's Blood Transfusion Team.  He continues to teach Hematology at the Washington State University School of Medicine, in Spokane, WA, USA, as a Clinical Assistant Professor, as well as at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA.  He also maintains accreditation in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology Oncology with the American Board of Pediatrics as well as a license to practice medicine in Greece and in the state of Washington, USA. 

While managing patients with a variety of  benign and malignant blood disorders, he developed a special interest in vascular anomalies, which led to the creation of a Vascular Anomalies clinic at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, as part of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology clinic.  He fostered an active interest in this field of medicine as an active member of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA), as well as the Special Interest Group of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology with participation and presentations at international conferences and publications in scientific journals that have been judged by international evaluators (peer-review journals).  

Upon his return to Greece in 2022, he began the collaboration with the Oncology Department of Children and Adolescents of Mitera Hospital and pioneered the creation of a Vascular Anomalies Working Group as a member of the Hellenic Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (EEPAO).  He continues his close collaboration with EVA clinic (eva-clinic.eu) and the Hemangioma and Vascular Malformations Clinic at Iaso Hospital, which is unique in Greece, as it is staffed by physicians of various specialties with particular expertise in this patient population.
